The General Strike

To quote Wikipedia: "The 1926 general strike in the United Kingdom was a general strike that lasted 9 days, from 3 May 1926 to 12 May 1926" [my emphasis].

I know a lot of people are sceptical about Wikipedia, and some may be weary of my many references to it, but I'd always understood that the General Strike had lasted nine days anyway. OK, it's ten if you count both the day it started and the day it ended; but that's not how we normally count days.
